Lightweight and durable and can be used as a mosquito net. And possibly even as a fish trap or net. That’s 3 applications. The mosquito net inside a hat provides more insulation, can be used as a short scarf and, depending on the color, worn on the head also provides some shade and some camouflage. I wear glasses to reduce the chance of reflection from the lenses.
I don’t know if the mosquito net is strong enough for a tourniquet on your smaller limbs, but it could be used as a bandage (a bandage holds the bandage).
(In low light conditions, the mosquito net limits your vision more than you think.)
For example, instead of a custom-made head net, you could take a square of the mesh material that is large enough to fit over your head and tucked under your shirt to keep insects out.
Below is a head net with a plastic bag containing 2 liters of water. It would also store other things like collected food and so on.
They cost too much on eBay. Temu and Aliexpress sell them for much less. Below you can get 4 for $4.48. Folds up very small and doesn’t weigh much. If you’ve ever had multiple mosquitoes attack your face, you know how valuable having one can be. And I’ve suggested some other uses for them before.
